Two of the models, the EF-11 and EF-12, are billed as 'Mini' and are the brand's smallest laser-based LCD projectors yet. The third, the EH-LS300B (pictured above, also available in a white finish as the EH-LS300W), is an ultra-short-throw projector for use close to a wall.

They will join the previously released EH-LS500 in the EpiqVision range when they go on sale January 1.

Epson aims to persuade potential buyers that modern projectors can be 'a real alternative' to a traditional flatscreen TV. Both the £1,300 EF-12 and £2,500 EH-LS300 feature in-built sound systems (with Bluetooth) designed by audio specialist Yamaha, and integrate Android TV for video-on-demand apps and games. Chromecast allows for quick-fire video streaming from Android and Apple devices, PCs and laptops.

Google Assistant integration, meanwhile, provides voice control/search functionality and wider interoperability with smart home hardware.

The £1,000 ultra-compact EF-11 misses out on the Google smarts and Yamaha sonics, instead offering Miracast functionality and a conventional onboard speaker.   

All Epson's new EpiqVision models use the brand's long-running 3LCD projector technology, allied to a laser light source and 1080p resolution. Brightness ratings on the EF-11 and EF-12 are 1,000 Lumens, while the UST EH-LS300 claims a punchy 3,600 Lumens.     

The EF-11 and EF-12 are intended to be moved around the home if needed, and can project on to floors or ceilings, as well as a wall.
