Panasonic unveils MZ2000 flagship OLED TV at CES 2023
The MZ2000 introduces a new custom module, dubbed the ‘Master OLED Ultimate’, which uses a Micro Lens Array, combined with a new multi-layer heat management configuration developed by Panasonic engineers.
Panasonic claims the technology delivers a peak brightness increase of approximately 50 per cent, compared to last year’s models. Average brightness is also improved.
Significantly, Panasonic is also promising improved image quality from streaming sources like Netflix and Disney+. A Streaming 4K Remaster algorithm reportedly identifies the resolution and analyses textures by area, for maximum detail.
Also, as with previous models, the MZ2000 supports a wide range of HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive, and HLG Photo. The set also uses Panasonic’s HCX Pro AI Processor.
The MZ2000 features an updated iteration of Filmmaker mode, with ambient colour temperature sensing, for studio accurate picture reproduction in any lighting conditions. Once again, colour tuning is by Hollywood colourist Stefan Sonnenfeld.
Panasonic will continue to focus on gaming in 2023, with support for key HDMI 2.1 features on the MZ2000, including full 4K resolution, up to 120Hz, ultra-low latency, VRR, and AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync support.
When connected to a system using a NVIDIA RTX graphics card, it automatically optimises input lag and VRR settings for tear- and stutter reduction.
Price and availability for the Panasonic MZ2000 have yet to be announced.
