LG has unveiled what it claims is the world's largest Ultra HD OLED TV at the IFA consumer electronics show currently taking place in Berlin. Described as 'a true home entertainment wonder that has to be seen to be believed' by LG Home Entertainment Company CEO and president Havis Kwon, the 77in curved OLED screen follows in the footsteps of the 55in model that was introduced to the public just eight months earlier at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Phase One of Marvel Studios' interconnected movie universe spent so much of its time laying the groundwork for Avengers Assembled that we simply didn't know what to expect from Phase Two. If Iron Man 3 is any indication, the films released under that banner will be more focused and confident that any of their predecessors.

Originally produced back in 2011 as a limited edition that would set you back the best part of £200, J.W. Rinzer's epic collection of technical drawings for George Lucas' Star Wars saga is now available in a more 'mass-market' edition. True, it'll still set you back around £60 and is heavy enough to brain a Wampa, but no self-respecting Star Wars fan will want to miss out on this surprisingly absorbing look at a previously uncelebrated part of the making of the films.

Of course, this being a horror film, the castle comes with a nasty secret in the form of a deformed freak who has been locked up in one of its basement cells for decades. Quite a claim, and the guys from Cambridge may well be right.

I’ve heard a startling amount of rubbish spouted about 4K/Ultra HD TVs in recent months. ‘Nobody cares about more pixels’. ‘The human eye can’t perceive the difference between normal HD and 4K resolutions’. ‘Forget UHD – what we need is OLED.’ ‘4K is just another marketing tool for selling more TVs.’ ‘Native sources won’t be available for at least five years’. And so on.
