Philips' original Screeneo, which debuted back in 2014, was perhaps the first home entertainment projector to liberate the ultra short-throw ethos from the boardroom/classroom and re-imagine it for regular living spaces. Now with this second iteration, Philips has refined the concept further.

Forget Herbie. When it comes to autonomous automobiles they don't come any better than Christine. This demon-fuelled, blood-red 1958 Plymouth Fury is the star of John Carpenter's slick 1983 movie adaptation of the Stephen King novel about a high school nerd (Keith Gordon) whose life is turned around when he becomes her latest owner. Trouble is, Christine has a mind of her own and is a very jealous lady…

Bluesound is expanding its multiroom range to include a soundbar model that supports networked hi-res audio streaming with MQA compatability. The Bluesound Pulse Soundbar will sell for £1,000 when it arrives in November, placing it in the high-end 'bar bracket alongside the likes of Samsung's HW-K950, DALI's Kubik One and Yamaha's top-line YSP models. Able to turn a TV setup into another multiroom zone, the Pulse Soundbar uses a six-strong driver array (arranged in a stereo config), with each custom-designed unit supported by a dedicated amplifier channel. There are also two additional passive radiators. While natively two-channel, the onboard Dolby decoding chip that handles downmixing will, HCC has discovered, by enabled by a future firmware to allow the 'bar to decode surround sound signals and output to linked Pulse speakers.

A caterer specialising in exotic foods starts targeting buxom beauties in a series of ritualistic killings. An innocent student is lured into a world of smutty photography in order to pay her college tuition. Biker babes run amok. Yankee tourists stumble upon a strange Southern town where they are brutally murdered. Welcome to the world of the late Herschell Gordon Lewis and his particular brand of exploitation cinema.

With TV frames getting inexorably thinner, it’s becoming harder and harder for TV brands to deliver truly distinctive designs. Yet Panasonic has certainly managed it with its new 58DX802: a 58in TV that arrives hanging between two metallic triangular ‘legs’, like a painting on an easel.

Hard as it may be to believe, it's been 35 years since Ashley J. Williams (Bruce Campbell) and his four doomed friends first journeyed to that isolated cabin in the woods in Sam Raimi's gore-splattered 1981 shocker The Evil Dead, and unwittingly unleashed an ancient evil on the world. Since then the character of Ash has developed a cult fanbase that has followed him through two equally iconic sequels (1987's Evil Dead II and 1992's Army of Darkness) and a host of comic book adventures (which continue to this day).

Dynaudio is a speaker brand doing most of its business at the high-end. The company has been consistently pushing the audio envelope since the late 1970s with pioneering speakers like the Consequence, Evidence and Contour. Its speakers are innovative, distinctive and accomplished. One thing they’re usually not, however, is affordable.
