Released through the theatrical arm of cult video label Arrow, Blade of the Immortal is a bloody treat for action fans. Based on the manga of the same name, this is a samurai action movie with a frenetic modern aesthetic, framed with gorgeous cinematography. The opening prelude, shot in highly dynamic monochrome, recalls classic Japanese Samurai cinema, before splashing into vivid hues.

Focal’s latest speaker pack is such an obvious idea I’m surprised I haven’t come across something like it sooner. Take a 5.1 sub/sat system, build in some Dolby-certified upfiring drivers into the L/R speakers, and – as Focal’s French design team no doubt said – voila!

Fitting somewhere in the middle of Samsung's burgeoning range of upper-market soundbars, the HW-MS750 is a mid-sized offering festooned with features and connectivity. As with the brand's flagship HW-K950 and HW-MS650 tested previously, R&D has been completed at Samsung's California-based Audio Design Lab, so the promise here is of yet another high-performance partner for your flatscreen.

It's safe to say 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day caused a stir when it landed in cinemas, flaunting a massive budget and groundbreaking CGI. The resulting audience stampede saw it challenge box office records, cement James Cameron's status as Hollywood royalty and have it crowned by some as that rarest of things – a sequel superior to its forebear.

Commemorating 25 years of REL sub-bass systems in some style, the company's No.25 is a very special subwoofer and mad as a box of frogs. A really, really big box of frogs, too. Weighing in at a whopping 76kg, its width is close to 75cm, it's over 80cm deep including connectors poking out and it stands 54cm tall. And even if you have a large room to house it, you'll need a big wallet as well. The price? A cool £6,500.

The LG 55SJ850V ticks nearly all the boxes yet costs a mere (in the scheme of things) £1,000. Spend that, and you get a 55in edge-lit 4K LED model, with HDR support including HLG and Dolby Vision, smart tricks including Freeview Play, third-party audio from Harman/Kardon and a neat solution for your living room.
